Erik Bottcher
Erik Bottcher is seeking re-election to represent District 3 in the New York City Council. He has pursued a pro-environmental agenda since being elected in 2021, and has promoted reformation of the City’s sanitation policies, sponsoring legislation for a zero waste goal by 2030 and promoting organic waste recycling and curbside waste containerization projects. He is a co-sponsor on legislation instituting mandatory curbside composting across NYC and successfully helped pass the “Skip the Stuff” legislation which reduces plastic waste from take-out or delivery orders. Bottcher plans to prioritize environmental initiatives through continued waste management efforts, along with the expansion of green space in neighborhoods that are currently underserved and the strengthening of emergency preparedness and resiliency citywide.
