As Brooklyn Borough President, Adams was a champion for environmental justice and combating climate change. As Borough President, he allocated $40 million to parks and created an influential Renewable and Sustainable Energy Task Force. Adams wants to make NYC a national leader in combating climate change and he will make green infrastructure and park funding a priority in the City’s Capital Budget. Furthermore, Adams is a proponent of expanded access to community solar projects as well as creating expanded opportunities for our city’s youth to pursue careers in green energy. He has promised to eliminate dirty peaker plants in the city while incentivizing essential wind development. If elected, Adams will be a strong supporter of environmental protection and environmental justice.
