Ed Romaine
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine is running for election as Suffolk County Executive. As Town Supervisor since 2012, Romaine has implemented policies and programs to create a greener, more sustainable Brookhaven. Under his leadership, the town has significantly invested in energy efficiency and renewable energy. He implemented an Energy Efficiency & Sustainability Initiative to better prepare the Town for future challenges related to climate change. The Town Board adopted Romaine’s legislation to create a Nitrogen Protection Zone, which requires more stringent standards for sanitary systems installed with new constriction within 500 feet of a body of water. Romaine has also worked with state delegation members to expand the Long Island Central Pine Barrens Core Preservation Area by 1,100 acres. If elected Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine will continue working to limit fossil fuel plants and promote clean, green energy such as solar, wind, and geothermal.
