Donald Clavin, Jr.

Donald Clavin, Jr. is running for re-election as Supervisor for the Town of Hempstead. Under his leadership, the town has prioritized responsible environmental stewardship and implemented several initiatives to promote renewable energy and conserve resources. For instance, the town offers low-cost composting units and rain barrels to encourage conservation and recycling among residents; they provide free reusable water bottles to reduce single-use plastic waste; and their curbside recycling program has one of the highest participation rates in New York State. If re-elected, Supervisor Clavin aims to continue improving the town’s energy efficiency programs, launch a series of public solar energy seminars, and explore new renewable energy technologies–including those related to energy storage–at the town’s renewable energy park and facilities.
