Seeking her tenth term as a county legislator, Ford has continued to fight for the environment by recently sponsoring and passing legislation to ban the sale of single-use plastic foam in the county. Along with supporting the Bay Park Conveyance Project to divert harmful effluent away from localities, Ford has supported increased bike lane development and greener transportation infrastructure. Ford helped to authorize the creation and funding of the Long Island Commission on Aquifer Protection and passed legislation to require annual public reporting on Nassau County’s groundwater and public water supply. If re-elected, Ford will continue to protect our environment by advocating for a more eco-friendly power plant in Island Park and expanding sewer access in Point Lookout.
