David Yassky

David Yassky is running for an open seat in the State Senate’s 23rd district. Yassky has served on the New York City Council for 7 years, in which he introduced legislation for fuel efficient taxi cabs, endorsed congestion pricing, and secured funding for a pilot “sponge park”. Additionally, he also served as Director of State Policy in the Office of the Governor of New York from 2019-2021 where helped advocate for environmentally conscious legislation as a lead policy staff person. If elected into the State Senate, Yassky will support funding sustainable legislation pertaining to clean energy and land conservation.
