Daniel Panico
Daniel Panico is running for election as Supervisor for the Town of Brookhaven. He has been serving as the Councilman and Deputy Supervisor for the Brookhaven Town Board since 2010. During that time, Panico helped secure the agreement to bring the Sunrise Wind offshore wind cable to Brookhaven. This project is expected to provide clean energy to nearly 600,000 homes annually. Additionally, Panico has been a strong advocate for installing solar panels on municipal buildings and has promoted solar arrays and battery storage projects throughout the town. He is also a champion for preserving open spaces. He has played a critical role in preserving over 1000 acres of open space and farmland, including over 80% of the Manorville farm belt and close to 300 acres of property from private developers. Panico worked closely with the Sewer District to pass the referendum to transfer the town property where the sewage treatment plant and leaching field are located. Panico has sponsored and passed laws to increase fines for illegal dumping in environmentally sensitive areas, such as critical wetlands in the Town. If elected, Supervisor Daniel Panico has committed to continue prioritizing strong environmental policies for the town of Brookhaven.
