Since becoming Town Supervisor in 2015, Levenberg has oriented Ossining towards effectively combating climate change. Under her leadership, Ossining signed a pledge to become completely carbon neutral by 2040 and adopted a carbon tracker to make sure this goal becomes reality. Levenberg led the charge to introduce and pass Solar and Battery Energy Storage local laws which promote more solar energy in town. As well as creating a Lime Bike Share Program, Levenberg helped bring more bike lanes and electric vehicle charging stations to Ossining. Regarding solid waste, Levenberg helped introduce a Food Scraps Recycling program. With Ossining now an Energy Smart Homes Community, she has proven her commitment towards promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment. If re-elected, Levenberg will continue to advocate for environmental justice throughout town as well as promoting greener initiatives for years to come.
