Chris Banks is running for election to represent the 42nd district of the New York City Council. He has a background in public service, having previously served as president of the 75th precinct council and Van Siclen Block Association. While leading the Van Siclen Block Association, he organized recreational and social events to unite the community, addressed quality of life issues, and focused on creating green spaces and improving sanitation. If elected, Banks plans to promote the use of energy-efficient vehicles and remove zoning restrictions that hinder the installation of EV charging stations. Banks also supports transportation priorities outlined in NYLCV’s Policy agenda and community-based food co-ops and partnerships with urban farmers to provide affordable and fresh food options for all residents.
