Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney is running for reelection to represent District 12 in the 117th Congress. Maloney has represented her district since being elected in 1993. During the 2019 legislative session, Maloney sponsored a bill to preserve wilderness, within the National Forest System (HR1321), as well as supporting pro-environment legislation such as the Climate Action Now Act (HR9). On the 2019 Environmental Scorecard, Maloney received 100%. During her time in office she has committed herself to the Green New Deal as an original co-sponsor, as well as co-sponsoring the Green New Deal for Public Housing. Along with other things, Maloney is currently working with community groups to ban pipelines in District 12.
