Carmella Mantello

Carmella Mantello is running for Mayor of the City of Troy. She has previously held the positions of Executive Director of the Hudson River Valley Greenway and Director of the New York State Canal Corporation. During these roles, she worked with various organizations to create land and water trails and protected natural and cultural resources throughout the Hudson River Valley and the State Canal System. As City Council President, Mantello established a Joint Task Force on Sustainability, introduced the Plastic Free Hudson River Act, oversaw solar projects, helped transition the city to streetlights with energy-efficient LEDs, and acquired electric vehicles for the municipal fleet. If elected, Mantello plans to invest in the city’s neighborhoods to make them more livable, cleaner, and safer while also protecting and promoting the waterfront.
