Alexa Aviles

Alexa Avilés is running for re-election to represent District 38 in the New York City Council. She is currently working on multiple pro-environmental projects, including transportation justice, resilient infrastructure, and expanding alternative energy sources like off-shore wind and solar energy. Avilés is the Chair of Public Housing, and has fought to hold NYCHA accountable for sustainable waste management and lead remediation projects in NYCHA campuses. If elected, she plans to continue advocating for funding and prioritization of environmental and health issues in public housing projects, access to affordable healthy food for low-income communities, and other environmental justice goals.
