Assemblymember Al Stirpe is running for reelection to represent State Assembly District 127. Stirpe has represented the district since 2006 and received a 94% on the 2019 State Environmental Scorecard. He has supported a variety of pro-environmental bills including A. 5753, which establishes a ban on single-use carryout bags in an effort to reduce plastic pollution. Stirpe is also an avid supporter of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Another priority for Stirpe is to utilize the Environmental Protection Fund to address habitat restoration and flood risk reduction including wetland, floodplain, and stream restoration, and protection.
