Latrice Walker is seeking re-election to represent Assembly District 55, where she has been an incumbent since 2014. Walker believes that climate solutions must also address historical environmental racism and inequality, and has worked to ensure that renewable energy is equitably distributed. Walker championed the Solarize Brownsville initiative, which financed green energy for over 225 low-to-moderate income homeowners. Walker is a former chair of the Renewable Energy Committee. As a member of the Housing Committee and representing a district with 29 NYCHA developments, Walker has been an advocate of improving water quality and replacing old pipes. Walker received a perfect score on the NYLCV Environmental Scorecard in 2021.
