David Miller
David Miller is currently on staff part-time for the Adirondack Council as their Clean Water Program Coordinator. When needed, he is also continuing to be a private consultant to non-profit clients for organizational, research and/or public policy expertise on environmental and energy programs. Previously, Miller served as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Ecology and Environment in Lancaster, NY where he led the development of new strategic initiatives for company growth and success. From 2007-2009, he was the Chief of Staff to NYS Education Commissioner Richard Mills and Deputy Commissioner for Innovation responsible for the Office of Government Relations/Communications, Office of the Board of Regents, and Office of Organizational Effectiveness.
Beginning in 1988, Miller spent close to 20 years at The National Audubon Society, first as Northeast Regional Vice President and then as Executive Director of Audubon New York. In the 1980’s, he was Executive Director of Great Lakes United and before that the Environmental Program Coordinator for Scenic Hudson. Mr. Miller received his B.A. in Environmental Studies and Economics at St. Lawrence University.
