The New York League of Conservation Voters released the following statement regarding the New York State Courts upholding the plastic bag reduction law:
Patrick McClellan, Director of Policy of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “We are thrilled that the plastic bag reduction legislation is finally settled law. Plastic bags pollute our waterways and streets, contribute to the solid waste crisis, and cost taxpayers money. This decision is a much-needed step forward as New Yorkers deal with cuts to municipal waste budgets. We look forward to DEC completing the law’s implementation as quickly as possible.”
