NYLCV released the following statement in response to Mayor de Blasio’s announced cuts to New York City’s Fiscal Year 2021 budget.
Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “As the City is dealing with an unprecedented public health crisis and upcoming economic crisis, parks are more important than ever. We must make sure that they remain well-maintained and safe for all New Yorkers to use both during the COVID pandemic and in the months and years following. Our parks – the city’s largest carbon sink and one of its most valuable environmental assets – must remain a top priority.”
