NYLCV & NYLCVEF Expands Board of Directors
New York, N.Y. – The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) and its Education Fund (NYLCVEF) boards of directors recently gained new members that will broaden the organizations’ expertise in environmental law, media relations, clean energy, and sustainable development, media relations, and green building practices.
Joining the NYLCV Board of Directors are:
John Gallagher, a Partner at Mercury Public Affairs, brings expertise in media relations and government relations in the construction and development sectors.
Philip Karmel, a Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, brings expertise in environmental law matters including environmental review statutes, Clean Air Act permitting, Superfund and oil spill litigation, and brownfields redevelopment.
Raymond Long, the Senior Vice President of External Affairs at Clearway Energy Group who is responsible for managing the federal and state activities for Clearway’s portfolio of conventional generation, retail and renewable development throughout the United States.
Sydney Mainster, the Director of Sustainability for The Durst Organization. She is responsible for defining strategies to transform the building product industry and resultant material waste streams.
Clinton Plummer, the Vice President of Development at Deepwater Wind, where he manages wind energy construction projects.
Joining the NYLCVEF Board of Directors are:
Rachael Estes, the Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Apex Clean Energy, where she engages with government leaders to advocate for stronger renewable energy policies. She previously served as a Climate and Energy Policy Manager at the North Carolina Conservation Network where she represented over 100 environmental groups across the state to advocate for stronger environmental protections and renewable energy policies.
Kevin Knobloch, the President of New York OceanGrid LLC, where he helps develop offshore wind transmission for electricity, heating/cooling systems, and storage solutions. He has conducted academic research on corporate perspectives on clean energy policy. Knobloch was previously appointed by President Barack Obama in June 2013 to be Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Energy and senior manager for Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz.
In addition, the League re-elected Steve Russo as Chair of the Board of Directors along with Co-Vice Chairs Jon Del Giorno, Lisa Linden, and Gail Port, Treasurer Rosalind Walrath, and Secretary Denise Richardson. Nanette Bourne, Barbara Fife, Robin Hubbard, Evan Mason, and Glenn Pacchiana were re-elected as part of the 2019 class of the NYLCV Board of Directors. NYLCVEF Education Fund re-elected Ed Cox as Chair of the Board of Directors along with Co-Vice Chairs Thomas Dewey, David Freeman, and Paul Roux, Treasurer Patrick Murphy, and Secretary Valerie Smith. Lisa Linden and Rosalind Walrath were re-elected as part of the 2019 class of the NYLCVEF Board of Directors.
