NYLCV GIVES GREEN ENDORSES KEN JENKINS FOR WESTCHESTER COUNTY EXECUTIVE

The New York League of Conservation Voters Gives Green is proud to announce their endorsement of Ken Jenkins for Westchester County Executive.

As Chairman of the Board of Legislators, Ken helped push for the continued electrification of the County’s fleet of vehicles, and as Deputy County Executive, he helped advance several clean energy initiatives, including installing solar panels on county buildings and developing EV charging stations in county parking lots. During his time in office, the County has enrolled 20 municipalities in a food waste recycling program, undergone PFAS remediation at the county airport, invested $30 million in flood mitigation, achieving Bronze level Climate Smart Community certification.

“As the impacts of climate change continue to grow in both frequency and devastation, we need elected leaders at all levels of government who will prioritize the environment and, critically, know how to turn bold ideas into actionable policies,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “That is exactly the kind of leader Ken Jenkins is, and we are confident that he will continue to be a strong advocate for resilient infrastructure, green jobs, and a healthier future, and that’s why we are proud to endorse him for Westchester County Executive.”

Last year, an overwhelming majority—over 91%—of the candidates NYLCV endorsed won in the general election.

The Special Election for Westchester County Executive will be held on February 11. The early voting period will be from Saturday, February 1, 2025, through Sunday, February 9, 2025.
