Work with Legislature to craft best budget possible
New York's environment will begin the next fiscal year on solid ground if Gov. Andrew Cuomo's budget proposals are adopted.
In particular, NYLCV applauds Gov. Cuomo's sustained support for the Environmental Protection Fund, Farmland Protection Program and agency staff levels, as well two new tax credits that will give a boost to New York's solar energy industry.
"Governor Cuomo's proposed budget is good news for the environment and clean-energy future," said Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters. "By maintaining conservation funding, retaining agency staff and expanding opportunities for solar energy, this budget will help protect our natural resources and create green jobs. We thank the governor and look forward to working with his team and the Legislature to adopt a budget that puts the environment on the best possible footing."
