State's New Budget Makes Environmental Progress

New York State’s 2012-2013 budget makes important sustainability progress, particularly in areas like environmental funding, mass transit, clean energy and air quality. Now, the emphasis shifts from the budget to legislative concerns like hydrofracking waste, water quality and solar energy.

The New York League of Conservation Voters' 2012 Albany Eco-Breakfast was our best-ever, attracting some of the state's most important environmental policy makers. High Environmental Marks For NY Congressional Delegation

The New York League of Conservation Voters joined the national League of Conservation Voters in releasing the 2011 National Environmental Scorecard, revealing scores for the New York delegation in the first session of the 112th Congress. Both New York senators and 17 of our House members achieved scores of 90 or above, but a number of New York delegation members are not heeding their constituents' calls for environmental progress. We look forward to working with these lower-scoring members, as well as the New York delegation as a whole, to transition our nation to clean-energy economy and more sustainable future.

Meet NYLCV's New Board Chair: Kevin S. Corbett

With extensive experience in transportation, government and nonprofit organizations, Kevin S. Corbett takes over the top board spot from Robert M. Hallman. Corbett has been a member of the NYLCV Board for several years, most recently serving as Treasurer. He is currently Vice President for Strategic Development at AECOM, a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, water and government.
