CONGESTION CONNECTION

Source: Crain's New York
Publication Date: March 27, 2008

A recruiting message in the form of a personal ad has netted the New York League of Conservation Voters its first candidate. In an e-mail last week, the group sought candidates committed to “combating climate change” and working “in brownfields” for “a relationship in the fall of 2008.” Its only turnoff was opposition to congestion pricing. Its first hook-up: Assemblyman Micah Kellner, D-Manhattan. Kellner officially got off the congestion pricing fence this week, saying he will vote for the program now that it includes a residential parking permit provision and exemptions for disabled drivers.
