Group Mobilizes Eco Voters In NYC
Source: Crain's Insider
Publication Date: Dec. 11, 2007 The New York League of Conservation Voters is planning a campaign to mobilize 100,000 "eco-voters" for the 2009 mayoral election. LCV formally unveiled a New York City chapter last week chaired by former Councilman Ken Fisher, an attorney and political consultant. It aims to build on LCV's aggressive mail, e-mail, phone and Web ad model that helped elect candidates last month in Schenectady, Brookhaven and Yonkers. With climate change becoming a potent issue, LCV expects to force mayoral candidates to pay more than lip service to the environment, Fisher says.
