We are thrilled to honor SL Green for creating a model for future developments that follow as part of the Midtown East rezoning. Nowhere is SL Green’s commitment to sustainability more evident than in the initiatives planned for One Vanderbilt, which will achieve one of the lowest carbon footprints in the City across buildings of similar scale and density. SL Green will also help fund $220 million in upgrades to Grand Central Terminal and will expand open spaces and plazas nearby.
We will also welcome NYC Council Member Daniel Garodnick as our special guest speaker. Representing Manhattan’s East Side since 2005, Council Member Garodnick has been a strong and consistent advocate for a sustainable urban environment. He authored NYC’s first Green Energy Code and, more recently, he used the opportunity presented by the Midtown East rezoning to secure better transit and more open spaces for the community.
