There's no surer sign that political season is here than scores of interviews with candidates seeking NYLCV's support.

All three contests are highly competitive, since they are either for open seats or for a contested primary.

Members of NYLCV's New York City chapter asked each candidate about their track records as well as their sustainability priorities for Congress. We covered a range of issues, from clean air and clean energy, to New York-specific questions like extending commuter transit benefits. You can see the full list of questions we asked in our congressional endorsement questionnaire.

With the congressional primary set for Tuesday, June 26, we expect to announce our congressional endorsements very soon. Later this month, we will also begin screening candidates seeking our support for their runs for state Assembly and Senate.

NYLCV is the only statewide organization that uses the power of endorsements to help elect environmental leaders.
