New Staten Island Tours Help New Yorkers "Go Local"Submitted by Liana Grey on Wed, 2008-07-09 16:39.
New Yorkers looking to shrink their carbon footprint might want to travel locally this summer. In an effort to encourage both residents and visitors to explore all five boroughs, 55-minute tours of Staten Island will be offered daily starting July 14th, according to Mayor Bloomberg's Office.
"The high cost of gas and rising airline prices are causing many people to look for options closer to home, and no place offers more attractions hidden in plain sight than the City itself," said Mayor Bloomberg. "From the Bronx to Staten Island, if you're looking for a nearby getaway, this summer can be a great time to Go Local." |
