Indian Point Licensing Board Needs More TimeSubmitted by Jaclynn Martin on Thu, 2008-06-26 11:06.
The Atomic Safety and Licensing Board was scheduled to announce its decision on Indian Point's relicensing June 16, but the panel needs more time, according to the North County News.
Organizations including the New York Attorney General's Office, Rockland County Conservation, the Connecticut Attorney General's Office, PHASE and the New York City Economic Development Corp. have filed contentions. Entergy Nuclear, the plant’s owner and operator, is seeking a 20-year extension on each of its two active reactors, which expire in 2013 and 2015.
