Indian Point cleared its first inspection hurdle in its effort to continue operating through 2035, according to the The Journal News. Glen Meyer, one of five Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials reporting the results of the inspection, said that "the non safety systems and structures have been adequately addressed with few exceptions noted."
Westchester County, the state of New York, and many environmental groups have argued against the license renewal. |
