Wappinger Places Temporary Ban on Residential Development

Submitted by Liana Grey on Thu, 2008-06-12 15:23.

The Town of Wappinger is banning residential development until it completes a land-use plan, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Construction has been put on hold in housing developments with at least five lots in the Dutchess County town.

Though the land-use plan (which was last amended in the 1980s) oversees the development of compact village centers in five hamlets, zoning changes will primarily affect residential areas.
