Report: Broadwater Would Save Ratepayers $15 BillionSubmitted by Sabrina Must on Wed, 2007-08-01 12:48.
The controversial Broadwater Energy project would save New Yorkers nearly $15 billion over 10 years by reducing gas and electricity charges, according to a consultant's report discussed in Newsday. But the report doesn't make a recommendation as to whether Broadwater should go forward, nor is the Long Island Power Authority doing so. That leaves the final decision up to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which is compiling its final environmental impact statement, as well as Gov. Eliot Spitzer's Department of State. |
