Elected in 2009, Rodriguez has been a dependable steward for our environment. As Chair of the Transportation Committee, he has been particularly proactive in working on issues of transportation and has worked tirelessly to make vehicles and means of transit more efficient.
Rodriguez was a sponsor for a law requiring electric charging stations for electric vehicles in every borough. He has pushed to expand Citibike and also founded “Car Free NYC,” a celebration taking place on Earth Day that encourages New Yorkers to leave their cars at home and use other means of travel to cut down on emissions.
If re-elected, Rodriguez can be counted upon to further the issue of transportation and address other pressing issues such as inefficient waste management and overuse of plastic bags.
