Thomas McKevitt, who is running for District 13 in the Nassau County Legislature, has always been a proponent of the environment.
As a member of the New York State Assembly, McKevitt voted to increase the EPF to $300 million, voted in favor of the Child Safe Products Act, and voted in favor of Complete Streets legislation. Thomas also voted in favor of Chapter 375 of 2012, which allows those who lease solar energy equipment to qualify for a tax credit. He is also passionate about biofuels, voting in favor of requiring the use of B2 biofuel on Long Island as well as throughout the State and hosting a forum on increasing the use of biofuels. Lastly, McKevitt co-sponsored and worked with Assemblyman Joseph Saladino on Chapter 543 of 2014, which requires the DEC to formulate a plan to hydraulically contain the Grumman plume.
