Since taking his seat in the State Assembly in 2000, Steven Cymbrowitz has proved to be an incessant promoter of wetland protection, drug take-back programs and updated water efficiency and toxic disclosure standards.
A champion on many environmental fronts, he has supported a host of crucial initiatives such as the New York State Climate and Community Protection Act, the Environmental Bill of Rights, and the Clean Water Bond Act. Cymbrowitz staunchly advocated for proper funding in the state budget for the Environmental Protection Fund, diversion of food waste, the Subway Action Plan, as well as energy efficiency, weatherization and residential solar projects in low-income communities. His efforts earned him an 86% on the NYLCV 2017 Environmental Scorecard.
Cymbrowitz has consistently shown his commitment to encouraging awareness and mindful consumption among the public, fortifying resiliency, and building safer, smarter neighborhoods across the state as a whole.
