Robert Rodriguez

Robert is running for New York City Council, District 8

As a New York State Assemblyman, Robert Rodriguez has shown that he is an effective legislator for furthering environmental priorities. He sponsored several pieces of legislation resulting in a requirement to install combustible gas detectors in all residential dwellings; causing liquid petroleum pipeline facilities to accelerate the repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of pipelines that are either leaking or at high risk of leaking; and enacting the New York State climate and community protection act, which relates to climate change, renewable energy programs, labor and job standards and worker protection. Rodriguez also sponsored the Move New York Fair Plan which requires outer bridges to be tolled and provides for a taxi surcharge on certain vehicles.

If elected to the City Council, Rodriguez would continue his record of environmentalism by addressing quality of life and park issues, and would work on building resiliency along our waterfront.
