Ethan Lustig-Elgrably, seeking election to represent District 46 in the State Assembly, has expressed his intent to empower municipalities to invest in resource conservation as well as protect open space and local ecosystems. He has additionally conveyed commitment to ensuring that low-income communities have resilient technologies and access to clean, renewable resources.
While employed as the Legislative Director for Councilmember Mark Treyger, Lustig-Elgrably secured funding for green infrastructure in Coney Island and worked on legislation to increase community resilience and disaster preparedness. He has stated that, upon taking the Assembly seat, he will look to fully implement the Community Risk and Resiliency Act. He also plans to aggressively pursue particulate emissions reduction, by urging the state to expand its own fleet of zero emission vehicles, replacing diesel vehicles, and increasing the use of car sharing.
If elected, Lustig-Elgrably’s initiatives will span a wide-breadth, further including the preservation of farmland, funding for programs that support young farmers and increase school meals use of local products, all examples of his devotion to being a steward of the environment.
