David Miller is a private environmental consultant providing organizational, public policy, fundraising and government relations services to clients in the areas of environmental, energy and educational programs. Previously, Miller served as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Ecology and Environment in Lancaster, NY. There he led the development of new strategic initiatives for company growth and success. From 2007-2009, he was the Chief of Staff to NYS Education Commissioner Richard Mills and Deputy Commissioner for Innovation responsible for the Office of Government Relations, the Office of the Board of Regents, Office of Organizational Effectiveness and the Communications Office.
Miller spent over 25 years in the non-profit conservation movement including Northeast Regional Vice President for the National Audubon Society and Executive Director of Audubon New York from 1988 to 2007. In the 1980’s, he was Executive Director of Great Lakes United and before that the environmental program coordinator for Scenic Hudson. Mr. Miller received his B.A. in Environmental Studies and Economics at St. Lawrence University.
